Company
Expertise
The history of this plant started back in 1883. Originally named WOTAN-WERKE AG - and later WOTAN- UND ZIMMERMANN WERKE AG, Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Berlin, Chemnitz and Glauchau, with its head office in Glauchau back then, the company quickly became a leading machine tool manufacturer. In addition to shaping machines the production programme included tool grinders, gear grinders, surface grinders, internal cylindrical grinders and special-purpose grinders. In 1968 the company was integrated in the East German industrial sector of tools and machine tools as a part of Berliner Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik BWF. In those days, both large universal internal cylindrical grinders and special-purpose grinders for manufacturers of roller bearings were designed and manufactured.
Present and future
Grinding machines from Glauchau are well-known around the globe for their high quality and reliability. After the German reunification the company was reorganised under the name it bears today: WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK GLAUCHAU GmbH. It was re-privatised in 1994. In a target-oriented process of reorganising structures and equipment, it quickly became established again as an efficient and flexible manufacturer of precision machines in Germany and abroad.
Boasting a team of qualified and experienced employees, WERKZEUGMASCHINENFABRIK GLAUCHAU GmbH meets the requirements necessary in the sector of grinding machines to carry the ideas for tomorrow forward from today with continuity.
